Inland Lake

Located in Blount County

.Inland Lake is situated in Oneonta, Alabama, and is filled with approximately 1,550 acres of water. This lake was created by impounding the Blackburn Fork of the Little Warrior River. This lake is operated by Birmingham Water Works, which owns all of Inland Lake’s 33 miles of shoreline. This reservoir is used as a water source for the city, and because the city utilizes a large amount of water, the reservoir experiences heavy drawdown yearly. This lake is also in a convenient location to access downtown Birmingham which is only 40 miles away.

On the Water

Inland Lake is the perfect place for fun on the water. There are two public boat ramps that give visitors access to recreational use of the water. Guests also love to boat and swim. Fishing is also a prominent activity here, Inland Lake is one of Alabama’s premier fishing destinations. Common species caught include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sauger, and catfish.
